  • Position Summary:

The Security Operations Center (SOC) manager plans, directs, and controls the functionality and operation of the SOC. Protect people, process and technology by ensuring incident monitoring and analysis by addressing all security incidents and ensuring timely escalation. Assign cyber intelligence capabilities to identify potential threats and provide strategic reporting and strategies to minimize the impact of threats.

  • Responsibilities
  • Assist in the Development of strategy in collaboration with the SecOps team. 
  • Derive continuous improvement activities and provide direction as well as supervise SOC teams. 
  • Ensuring effective functioning of SOC where enterprise information systems are monitored & defended on an ongoing basis 
  • Design rule-based surveillance of logs / events to ensure their effective monitoring and perform detailed analysis of the highlighted exceptions 
  • Responsible for maintaining the Security Information & Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Threat Intelligence Platform, and analyzing the logs / events for detailed and forensic investigation. 
  • Provide guidance in enforcing escalation procedures to ensure that security incidents are appropriately assigned and that all necessary communication guidelines are followed.
  • Recommend best tools, process, practices and standards to ensure effective and efficient security tools/capabilities for investigations. 
  • Lead 24×7 delivery team, foster innovation and drive accountability. 
  • Responsible for team & Vendor Management, overall use of resources and initiation of corrective actions where required for Security Operations Center 
  • Define and review Key Security Performance indicators that ensures proper service delivery and service improvements. 
  • Ensure detection, response, and recovery procedures are up to date, maintained and followed 
  • Provide reports, dashboards, metrics for SOC operations and presentations to Senior Management
  • Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Leadership, motivational, team building, interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Critical thinking and multi-tasking
  • Ability to work under pressure, problem solving skills and decision making
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to information technology and information security
  • In-depth knowledge of cyber threats, counter measures and IT systems
  • Knowledge of organizational information technology (IT) & Information Security Policies
  • Education & Experience:
  • At least Bachelor’s Degree in Information Security / Computer Sciences or equivalent
  • Masters in Information Security / Computer Science will be preferred
  • Certifications like GSOM/GSLC/CISSP/CISM and Platform like QRadar, LogRhythm will be preferred.
  • Preferably 10-12 years of experience in information security with 4-5 years managerial role at MSSP or Financial Institution or relevant field.
